Scheduling a road
test appointment
When you schedule
an appointment, you will be prompted to enter the
following items for the person who will be taking the driving skills
test:
Social security number
Date of birth
In the event we need to contact you regarding your appointment,
please
enter a telephone number beginning with the area code, where you can
be reached between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The person who will be taking the test must hold a valid instruction
permit.
You may schedule an appointment up to 11 weeks in advance.
New appointments are made available every Wednesday morning.
You can schedule, reschedule, cancel or verify a road test
appointment.
If you cannot keep your appointment, you need to cancel before the
scheduled date. If you fail to cancel, cancel the day of your
appointment
or do not show up, you will be recorded with a failed road test and
will
not be able to schedule another appointment for seven days.
If the person for whom you are scheduling the appointment is new to
Wisconsin, they will need to go to the nearest Division of Motor
Vehicles
(DMV) service center to have a record created for them in our
computer
before you can make an appointment.
If the person who will be taking the driving skills test is under
the age of
18, they must have held their permit for six months, have no
violations
for six months, have completed 30 hours of driving experience, and
completed driver education.
